Love, Pete
Bathing Beauty
Pete LOVES his bath. It took him awhile to adjust to being in the big tub, but now he’s all smiles and giggles and is just so incredibly adorable. Pat was home tonight during bath time and snapped some great pictures:
There’s not much better than that little face and those big blue eyes staring at you. His cuteness just makes me melt!
Eight Month Update
Our little baby is eight months old. His next checkup is at nine months so I don’t have many stats to report, but when he got his flu shot earlier this month, he weighed 18 pounds, 12 ounces!
Pete is such a happy guy. He babbles all day long and it’s just so cute. When you ask him where the doggie is, he finds Bailey and his whole face lights up – he still has the biggest smiles for her. Pete sits up and crawls, but standing up and trying to walk are still two of his favorite things. He is such a determined kid and is so proud of himself when he achieves his goal. He’ll look up and when you smile and say “yay Pete”, he gets very excited. He loves when people clap for him and he loves to clap for himself too!
He is curious about everything and I love watching him learn. His favorite book is Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? by Dr. Seuss and he laughs at all the funny noises. He is quite a little ham and just the best natured baby. We are very much in love!
I’ll post more pictures from Christmas soon!
Merry Christmas!
On The Move
Pete has figured out how to crawl. It’s more like a cross between crawling and the worm, but he is on the move … and nothing is safe!
It’s been about a week since he figured it out, and every day he gets better and better. And faster. He is so proud when he reaches his destination – it’s adorable!

Seven Month Update
I know I say this all the time, but Pete is growing up way too quickly! I really cannot believe that he is seven months old already. Pete is so fun to be around and is such a happy little guy. A cute elderly woman at the grocery store stopped me the other day and very politely asked if she could abduct my baby. I said no, but of course thanked her for asking first.
Pete does not like to sit still. Actually, he pretty much hates sitting in general. He would much prefer to stand up and can bear a lot of weight on those little legs:
Pete laughs all the time, eats solid (baby) food, gets up on all fours and rocks his little bum, scoots himself on the floor (still backwards only) and has two little bottom teeth that poked through this weekend. He still loves his books and music and is becoming quite a ham. He seems to know when he’s funny and loves to mimic other people. He entertains me all day and I just love him so much!
This picture is one of my favorites … he looks like such a little boy. Where did our baby go?! I can only imagine what’s in store for us this month but look forward to every minute of it.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Sweet Potato Pete
Pete tried solid foods for the first time a few weeks ago. His first adventure into eating was with sweet potatoes. The doctor had warned that he may only eat a few spoonfuls and not to be concerned. Pete ate the whole jar. He loved them:
Carrots, on the other hand, are not his favorite:
It is so fun to watch him try new things! So far, oatmeal cereal, sweet potatoes, pears and apples are his favorite. Bananas are suspect and winter squash and carrots don’t make the cut. Next up are peas – probably my least favorite vegetable, but I’ll try not to pass my bias onto the little man!
