I had a special helper stretch me out after my run yesterday:
Hands down, he’s the most adorable physical therapist I’ve ever had!
The online home of Patrick, Laurie, angel Brienna, Peter and Bailey.
Pete and I headed to Nana Quinn’s this afternoon for lunch with some very important ladies:
His cousin Gracie was supposed to be there too, but ended up not being able to make it. That didn’t stop Pete from having a blast though. Per usual, he was a little ham and took great pleasure at being the center of attention. He yelled, he talked and he flirted shamelessly with his adoring crowd. He was spoiled with presents from Nana Quinn and loved playing with his new toys.
Nana Quinn has such a way with Pete. He is never shy with her and she knows exactly how to make him smile and laugh. They seem to understand each other perfectly and I just love watching them together:
We had such a great visit and are already looking forward to the next one 🙂
Bailey hasn’t gotten much love on the blog lately, but she is still our favorite (very tolerant) four-legged friend!
Pat and I went on a date tonight (our first true date in over nine months)! It is very hard to leave Pete, so we searched high and low for the perfect babysitter. We learned pretty quickly that our first candidate wasn’t quite up to the task:
We had a backup (just in case) but he too wasn’t up for the Pete challenge:
Luckily, we finally found someone suitable to babysit, stay awake and take pictures:
Thanks Auntie Kris and Uncle Shay for treating us to a much needed night out. Pete had a lot of fun and we really were very comforted to know he was in good hands!
Pete is nine months old, which just amazes me. Where has the time gone? Every day he looks less and less like a baby and more and more like a little boy. The little man had his nine month check up today and weighed 19 lbs. 14 oz. and is 28.5 inches long. That puts him at just about the 50th percentile and he is “perfect” according to the nurse practitioner. She is clearly incredibly smart and I very much agree with her.
Pete is a busy baby. He is into everything and never, ever sits still. He crawls all over the place and is scary fast. He pulls himself up on anything he can get his hands on, whether it’s a sturdy table or something less stable – such as Bailey. Luckily he doesn’t have far to go when he falls down. He babbles all day long and his favorite word is “dada”. He gives kisses with his entire mouth and tongue and they crack me up every time. He is so enthralled with all his new skills that he’d prefer not to sleep, but he tuckers himself out so much during the day that he does sleep better at night. Getting a nine month picture has proven very difficult, as someone eats the props and doesn’t sit still. So for now, I’ll leave you with this video from yesterday. He is so funny (and kinda sounds like a monkey) and I love it!
I’ve been told I’m slacking with updates, so my post-New Year’s resolution will be to post (at least a picture) weekly!
UPDATE: Pete’s nine month photo from last weekend. Even with two of us, it was hard to capture a great shot … someone just didn’t want to sit still!
Now that Pete can stand up by himself, it’s all he does. He will attempt to pull himself up on everything he can. It’s adorable, but has become somewhat problematic at night. As soon as we lay him in his crib, he stands up. The last few nights have been a bit trying, because he just refuses to sleep. Needless to say, he’s exhausted. So tonight, when we put him to bed, he immediately stood up. And then fell asleep:
He woke himself up a few minutes later and started to cry. We went back in and laid him down and he did eventually fall asleep on his back, but I couldn’t help but laugh to see him slumped over the edge of the crib. It’s semi-heartbreaking, hilarious and adorable all at the same time. But it’s so Pete. And I wouldn’t want him any other way!
