This was just too cute/heartbreaking not to share! Pete isn’t often upset, but when he is, he lets us know:
Is it any wonder that he has us wrapped around his little fingers?

Pete was taking a bath! The little man is very good about his baths. While I don’t think he loves them just yet, he seems pretty content and doesn’t cry. One thing is for sure: he looks pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself!
Our little man is two months old! Where does the time go? I really cannot believe that two months has passed since Pete arrived. The time is going by way too quickly and someone is growing up too fast before my very eyes! Pete had his two month appointment on Monday and weighed in at 12 lbs. 14 oz. and 23.5 inches long! He also had shots, which he handled like a tough guy. When the doctor was explaining the vaccines, Pete was staring at him intently, as if he understood every word … the doctor was impressed and thinks Pete is very mature. We do too. Pete is a happy, healthy, content little guy that we’re totally in love with. He smiles, tells us stories all day and lights up our lives. We are beyond blessed to have him here with us!
Pete also had his first visit to the Cape this weekend, so that post will (hopefully) be up soon. And a special thank you to my friends Jodie and Robin for Pete’s new chair! We love it and know Pete will too for many years to come!
We (Pat) finally captured Pete’s adorable little smile on camera!
Pete is growing and changing on a daily basis, it both amazes and scares me! At last check, he was 11 lbs. 10 oz. and he’s just about outgrown his 0-3 month clothing already. Pete coos, smiles and entertains me all day long. He is such a good baby; a sweet, precious gift and we are so enamored with him!
It gives me great pleasure to wish Pat a happy father’s day. The last two father’s days were more bitter than sweet with Brienna not being here, so yesterday was truly a day to celebrate. Seeing Pat with Pete brings me such joy. I love watching them together … Pete is a lucky little guy to have such a great dad!
Happy Father’s Day to Birdie and Grampa Marr too – we love you!
Pete attended his first Gaspee Day parade today. Our friends Nick and Amanda live right near the parade route, so we braved the rain and walked down to see the action. The firing cannons scared me, but Pete was unfazed and slept through the whole thing.
We had a great time at the parade, and at Nick and Amanda’s for the pre and post-parade festivities! Here’s Pete hanging out with his older lady friend, Amanda and Nick’s daughter, Nia:
Our 10 year PC reunion was this weekend (yes, we are old!) so we stopped by the BBQ on Saturday afternoon to check things out. We are so fortunate to still be very good friends with our PC crew and we see each other fairly often, but it was nice to run into people we don’t often see. It was also an excellent opportunity to show off Pete, the newest member of the class of 2033. (Though based on current tuition rates, a private college education will be be about $400,000 by the time he’s ready, so PC may not be in the cards!) It was your reunion if your class year ended in 1 or 6, so it was also Liz’s reunion (Class of 2006) and Grampa Marr’s reunion (Class of 1971). We have quite a family tradition at PC!
Speaking of Grampa Marr, we celebrated his birthday today with a delicious brunch and then cake at our house. Pete loved spending time with his grandparents, and from the looks of things, the feeling is mutual!
It is hard to believe that our sweet baby girl would be two years old today. Two years! If I close my eyes, I find myself transported back to June 2, 2009. I can still relive that day in almost perfect detail. I will never forget, yet I fear that I didn’t memorize enough about Brienna to last me a lifetime. The thing about death that is so hard to come to terms with is it’s finality. I know that Brienna is in a better place, yet sometimes I still cannot rationalize that I don’t get to see her, hold her or kiss her again; forever is a very long time to be without your daughter …
Brienna is so loved and so missed. As hard as her birthday is, it’s also a day when we get to celebrate her. She made such an impact on our lives and I know that I am a better person because of her. All the calls, texts and emails we received today are so appreciated. Not because people are thinking about us, but because they are thinking about her. I have often feared that she would be forgotten. That she isn’t is such a gift. So as always, thank you.
Brienna Marie,
Happy 2nd Birthday sweet angel! We wish more than anything that you were here with us to celebrate your special day. You are in our hearts and on our minds each and every day. It is hard to believe it’s been two years since we said hello and goodbye. Thank you for changing our lives and helping make us better parents. We love you and miss you more than you can imagine …
Love,
Mom and Dad
